COFEE AND YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM
COFEE AND YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM
Th1 dominant condition people will get benefited by drinking few cups of coffee every day. But Th2 dominant condition people if drank coffee every day ,it could stimulate already dominant Th2 condition. So Th2 dominant people should avoid coffee.
Only Th1/Th2 cytokine blood panel test will help you find out whether you are Th1 or Th2 dominant .. If you are beauty lover, and worried about attacks of acne, face allergies frequently etc, then most likely you are Th2 dominant and you may avoid coffee by all means. You may drink Green tea( it will balance Th 1 / Th2 dominance)
What is Th1 and Th2-? : We can split immune system in to two. We can call first half Th1 and the second half Th2. We need a well balanced immune system. There should not be Th1 or Th2 dominance. Think of them as First officer and Chief Engineer onboard ship. Both of them have to work together for smooth sailing of the ship.
In ideal situation neither Th1 or Th2 is dominant .However in some people a prolonged pattern of either Th1 or Th2 dominance occurs and this is where health problem begins. It can be possible both Th1 and Th2 simultaneously overactive or underactive. Pergnancy can shift immune system temporarily to Th2 and after they give birth the immune system return to Th1 dominance.
If Th1 is dominant they suppress Th2 and vice versa. So when Th1 is dominant some medical textbooks suggest Th2 stimulating compound. But the best strategy is to use Th1 Th2 balancing compounds ( Green tea , Ginger, reservatrol, alpha lipoic acid,Omega 3 oil etc ). Any supplement tablets that has potential to boost immune system should be avoided because it will increase already activated Th1 dominance. Always try to balance Th1 Th2 so autoimmune attack is lessened. But let's not forget our old friends fried foods and sugar that can weaken the immune system.
