Marketing is like learning to Swim.They are both learnt by doing, not by reading a book.

It is not about complicated customer profiling or market segmentation taught in most business schools,it is infinitely simpler than that.

In the first verse of Ishopanishad which comes under Shukla Yajurveda, it says that Everything in this Universe is subject to change . The character of the customers also changing. You cannot apply the same marketing strategy that you use 150 years ago. You need to adapt your sales and marketing for today’s customer.

If you act like you want some one to do something they won’t be willing to do it except may be out of pity which is a whole other discussion but worth mentioning here.

Don’t never ever beg for sales to your customer. That would suck. For example, imagine your company launched a new product and if you are requesting your customers that your sales are low, you really need some cash, and if they could make a small trail order for this new product, it will help your company a lot .No, That will suck. No body will buy from you.

Don't make your customers seems to think that they are doing you a favor.Instead you have to appear as if you are doing them a favor by introducing your amazing new product or service.

This is a silver bullet for your career or confidence build up too.
